Get Vaccinated, Ipswich

After it was made clear that having a high rate of vaccination would put an end to lockdowns, border closures, and restrictions, I developed this campaign to boost Ipswich’s vaccination rate by increasing awareness of local vaccination opportunities and emphasising the safety of COVID-19 vaccines.

It was determined that Queensland’s double vaccination rate should be 80% or higher for adequate community protection, and we wanted to make sure that Ipswich met this target too.

The campaign utilised email communications, social media posts, and a media release. Additionally, I organised a community forum with the MP and the Chief Health Officer at the time, Dr. Jeannette Young, who addressed all questions about COVID-19 and vaccines.

By the end of the campaign, Facebook post engagement increased by around 20% and almost 93% of Ipswich residents were double vaccinated, well exceeding our target. Getting to this figure was of course a collaborative effort involved various Government departments and community stakeholders, but we took pride in our contribution.
